Week 1: Putting God First in Your Heart

This week begins with surrender, inviting us to commit fully to God’s kingdom and release any personal ambitions that may compete with His plans (Proverbs 3:5-6). Following this, we explore the importance of loving God above everything else, as Jesus teaches in Matthew 22:37, calling us to prioritize Him in all aspects of life.

As we surrender ourselves to His perfect timing and plan, let us consider how to seek His kingdom in all our choices. When we submit fully to Him, we emphasize that true wisdom comes from Him and that our decisions should reflect our dedication to His purposes. This week lays the foundation for a heart wholly committed to God, reminding us that prioritizing Him brings peace, clarity, and spiritual growth.

Day 1: Surrendering Your Heart to God

Surrender is an invitation to let go of control and trust God with every part of your life. Often, we hold onto parts of our hearts—our dreams, relationships, fears—unwilling to release them entirely to God. But true surrender means allowing God to have complete access and authority over every area of our lives, trusting that He will lead us in His wisdom. Proverbs 3:5-6 tells us to lean not on our understanding but on God’s wisdom. This is crucial because our perspective is limited, but God’s perspective is unlimited.

When we surrender our hearts to God, we enter a relationship built on trust and dependency. Surrender doesn’t mean we have to understand everything; it means we believe that God’s intentions for us are good and that His guidance is trustworthy. In moments of doubt, lean on God’s Word and promises. Take time today to ask God to help you fully commit your heart to His kingdom, allowing His love to guide your actions and choices.
