Be for RealSample
(VIDEO TRANSCRIPT BELOW)
Have you ever heard the saying, “Practice makes perfect?”
Usually, this makes us think of things we try to get better at, like a sport, our singing range, or our baking abilities. For instance, we know that if we practice doing push-ups, we will get stronger and be able to do more of them the more we practice. The same is true for integrity. Every time we are honest, kind, or brave, we are more likely to be those things in the future. At the same time, when we lie or don’t show integrity in small ways, we are more likely to be dishonest when the stakes are higher.
Today, think about who you want to be. Write down some words that you want to be true of you, like honest, brave, or kind. Then, look for small ways to practice those skills this week so it will be easier to practice them in more difficult circumstances.
