God's Redemption Story (The Church: Part 2)Sample
Hebrews (2)– Day 2
As Christians, we are used to hearing about the Blood of Christ. We sing songs about its Power to purify us and wash away our sins. Unfortunately, the frequency with which we speak of it has made it into something we too easily take for granted.
When we look at the Sacrificial System of the Old Covenant, the sacrifices made with animals were temporary and incomplete. They needed to be repeated and they could not completely take away the stain of sin.
In the New Covenant, Jesus is our High Priest. Unlike the priests of the Old Covenant, Jesus did not shed the blood of animals. Instead, He Himself became the Sacrifice. By the shedding of His own Blood, Jesus made a Sacrifice that was both Eternal and Sufficient. Through the Blood of Christ, we have been given the Opportunity to be reconciled to God and spend Eternity with Him!
