Three Areas That Require God’s Peace:

1) Eternal

As a result of the original sin of Adam and Eve (Genesis 3), we are born separated from God. This relationship is broken and can only be restored through faith in Jesus. In his letter to the Romans, Paul writes, 'Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ' (Rom. 5:1 ESV). The child mentioned in Isaiah 9:6-7 is Jesus, and when you believe in Him, eternal life and true peace are finally yours (John 3:16)!

2) Internal

Do you ever feel unsettled in your heart, constantly struggling with anxious and worrisome thoughts? In his letter to the church in Philippi, the apostle Paul writes: “What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you” (Phil. 4:9 ESV). As we focus on Jesus and allow the Holy Spirit to help us walk in alignment with Him, peace will continually flood our hearts and minds.

3) Relational

Have you ever conflicted with a friend or family member, feeling as though there was no hope for reconciliation? When Jesus was born in Bethlehem, relational strain was widespread due to oppression from the Roman government. However, during His three-year ministry, Jesus helped people see that Satan, not their neighbor, was the real enemy. When we recognize that we are all equal at the foot of the cross, it becomes easier to walk in compassion and forgiveness with those around us.
