Daily Bible Reading—December 2024, God’s Guiding Word: JoySample
Introduction
Revelation 3:1–22: In this chapter, we read the messages that were written to the churches in Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea. The church in Philadelphia is commended for being faithful.
Today’s Key Verse: Revelation 3:21
“To those who win the victory I will give the right to sit beside me on my throne, just as I have been victorious and now sit by my Father on his throne.”
Reflect
How is Jesus described to each of the three churches addressed in today’s reading? Like the four churches in yesterday’s reading, these three are also told that the Lord knows what they are doing or what they have done. How might the churches have reacted when they heard those words? What does Jesus say he does to those he loves (verses 19–20)?
Pray
Lord God, your knowledge of me is beyond my understanding. Nothing about me is hidden from you. And still, you love me and want to come in. Help me to remain faithful and true to your word. Amen.
Tomorrow’s Reading
Revelation 4:1–11: John describes a vision of worship in heaven.
