Strategy 5: Recognizing the Battle and Choosing to Fight

If you do not think that the evil one is trying to steal, kill, and destroy everything good in your life then you are beyond help.

However, if you know that to be true then the reality is you have no choice but to fight. This means when you are at your weakest, most vulnerable, exhausted and at your wits end you must remain in the battle.

This means that each day we are given is an opportunity to lead our family and lead them well. Are you going to have moments that you want to redo, yes. However, there isn’t a mistake you’ve made that cannot be overcome with the love that Christ pours out on us. Remember, there is more Grace in Jesus than sin in you.

Too often, we get in our own heads and the thoughts of condemnation begin to take over. They permeate everything we touch and before we know it we think that there is absolutely nothing good in anything that we touch. I need you to hear this - those thoughts are from the pits of hell and you must rebuke them and send them back where they belong.

You have been given four ideas on where to take the battle for your family. The true question is - are you going to take action? The evil one is hoping that you chalk this up to another good nugget that you’ll get to one day. Upon finishing this you’ll likely get hit with a myriad of issues and items that will consume your schedule. The likelihood of this getting buried and never surfacing is unfortunately extremely high. However, for the select few warriors that are ready to take action today is the day you can begin winning back your family from the attacks of the enemy.

We know it will not be easy, we know that the world will likely criticize, we know that there will be days when you want to throw in the towel and we want to remind you of one salient truth - you were hand-picked by God to lead your family! Think about that for a second, out of all the people on earth God chose you to lead your family. He did that out of intentionality and confidence in who you are as He is your Creator. Let that truth ignite and keep you on fire as you push back against evil. Use the strategies discussed—dinner table discussions, car conversations, bedtime blessings, and distraction-free walks—as practical weapons against evil.

1. How does knowing that God hand-picked you to lead your family inspire and motivate you to stay in the fight, even when it feels difficult or discouraging?
2. What steps can you take today to fight back against the enemy’s attacks and intentionally lead your family, even when you're feeling weak or overwhelmed?

Jesus came so that we may have life and have it abundantly. Stand firm against the enemy’s schemes by being intentional in every area of your family life. Make use of every opportunity to connect, communicate, and reflect God’s love. As you do, you will lead your family well, pushing back the darkness and walking in the light of Christ.
