Acts 2:42-47 | God's CommunitySample
God wants you in an Acts 2 community. An Acts 2 community is any group of people devoting themselves to living out their life in Christ together as the New Testament describes. The New Testament is filled with examples of what this looks like. No single passage captures it all. But you’d be hard-pressed to find a better summary than we see in Acts 2.
Each of us has spiritual strengths and weaknesses. An aspect of Acts 2 life that comes naturally to one person doesn’t always come naturally to another. A danger is to focus only on the aspects we like or the things that come naturally while neglecting the fuller Acts 2 vision of life Christ invites us to. It’s like a weightlifter who loves to work chest and completely neglects leg day. It leads to imbalance, limits our gains, and can even result in injury.
When you read Acts 2, it lists all sorts of things the early church was doing. Any one of these activities by itself will only take you so far. They’re meant to be practiced in a synthesis together.
Today, read Acts 2 again. Don’t let it slip away as something already read. Use it as a ministry manifesto and spiritual template. Peruse Acts 2 and make it into a list. Which things listed do you love to do? And which, if you’re honest, do you dislike, but need to intentionally focus on as a sheer act of love?

About this Plan
Acts is a call to be a part of a new community living out a new way of life through God’s Spirit. This 5-day plan continues a journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
