Imagine being chosen for a special task or honor. Note the feelings that arise. Now reflect on the truth that God has chosen you and loves you beyond measure. What emotions are present? As you hold onto this image, read today’s Scripture with those thoughts and feelings in mind.

Reflection

As the Church, we have responded to God’s love which chooses all of us. Our identity is intentional, marked by God’s love and mercy—which selflessly draws close to what is challenging and even miserable in this world. We are called to embody lives that proclaim this Divine love by showing up in and for the world around us.

Reflect on how being chosen and loved by God shapes your identity. How can you live out this truth in your daily life? Consider how to share this love and sense of belonging with others.

Lord, thank you for choosing and loving me. Help me to live in a way that reflects your light and love to a world that often feels unchosen and unworthy. Guide me to share your mercy and grace with others, even drawing near to what is challenging. Amen.
