Be HumbleSample
Have you ever had to speak in front of a group of people? If you have, then you know how public speaking, in general, can make people feel weak in the knees and ready to pass out. Even speaking one-on-one with people can feel overwhelming when we’re talking about something we’re not confident about. When Jesus told His followers to go and tell everyone about the gift of salvation made available through His life, death, and resurrection, He wasn’t asking them to speak hesitantly about Him. He told them to confidently share that message and be an example to everyone else, encouraging others to do the same.
Even if they weren’t sure, or felt unprepared, or didn’t seem ready, they followed His leading and spoke confidently about who He was to them. And the result? Well, it changed the world! What’s even cooler is that we can do the same. We can confidently talk about what Jesus has done in our lives, telling others who He is and what He’s done for us.
This week, think about what stops you from speaking confidently about Jesus to the people around you and bring it to God. Ask for confidence and humility to continue to do what Jesus first asked His disciples to do.
