The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren'tSample
Prayer, at its root, is about a conversation with God. It’s a way to connect with God over everything in our lives. For some of us, being real with God is something we’ve always done, but this doesn’t always feel natural for others. We tend to want to only tell God about the good — the things we’re thankful for, the ways we’re celebrating, the good we see God doing. And while all that stuff is certainly part of what God wants from us, it isn’t all.
God doesn’t invite us into a surface-level conversation. God isn’t asking for fake smiles and highlight reels. No, God invites us to bring it all in prayer. The good, the bad, and everything in between. When we go to God with everything, we’ll find that we aren’t disappointed or discouraged. Instead, we’ll find the kind of comfort that only God can give.
Today, put this into practice! Spend time in prayer, being real with God about what you’re feeling and experiencing in life. Don’t hold back! Remember, God wants to know all of you, so bring that into your prayers.
