Hearing God in the NoiseSample
The In-Between Space
The space between where you are now and where you and the Lord are going often becomes a quest for certainty as fear, frustration, and confusion try to scare you back to where you came from.
The disciples experienced this one day at the Sea of Galilee. Jesus said to them, “Let us cross over to the other side.” Mark 4:35, NKJV. As they made their way across the lake, they encountered a huge storm that began to fill the boat with water. Their first reaction was to rush to the bottom of the boat and wake Jesus, in the hope He would save them. But instead, He asked them “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” Mark 4:40, NKJV
You know how sometimes as the doors close in on old seasons and we feel, we know, we sense, shifts and changes and the potential moving into something new?
It can feel like your feet are on the ground and yet the ground is shaking, shifting, and changing and while you’re still making steps forward, the vibration and frequency of the underground movement is tangible and feels scary.
You feel those shifts and you know they are there because they are cues. They are the signals designed to get you ready, to alert your awareness, to encourage you to hone in on His voice and sound and to move with Him in the authority He has been training you up in.
When we recognise those feelings as cues, as places of understanding and spiritual intelligence, we can begin to translate and interpret them. We pull in all that data that is coming to us through the eternal code that's written and embedded in your heart, and then we access the intel to gain understanding and assurance.
We can start to ask questions like:
What has God been speaking and doing in my life?
Which scriptures has He highlighted to me?
What do I know already about His nature and His ways?
Where has the Lord been growing me?
Where did He say we were going?
Where am I seeing Him show up each day?
As we answer these questions, we train our awareness and focus to be on what we ARE experiencing with the Lord. Then confusion gets to take a backseat to the truth of what God is doing.
This in-between space and your willingness to pay attention to the cues is now a place of revelation. It's a place of hope, beauty, and wonder.
It becomes a place of celebration because it’s so exciting to be on the path that you are on.
It isn't to be this aimless wandering about in the desert, instead it is certain and it's sure, and you get to have so much more confidence in what you're doing because you've unlocked with the Lord the mysteries that are in the beauty of the in-between space.
Activation:
Take some time today to answer the questions above and allow your awareness of His presence in your life and surroundings to increase.
