Hearing God in the Noise

DAY 3 OF 5

Vision that Endures Resistance

“Where there is no vision, people cast off restraint.” Proverbs 29:18a, ASV

When there is no clear prophetic vision, people quickly wander astray. But when you follow the revelation of the word, heaven’s bliss fills your soul. Proverbs 29:18, TPT

For me, this one proverb had for a long time been in the 'too hard basket' waiting for revelation. The idea of vision or even prophetic vision had been a foreign concept. It wasn’t something I had been taught growing up and honestly, my imagination (or daydreaming) had been shut down.

Then in one moment, one person says one thing and BOOM!!! There it is! Like a lightning strike, a picture appears in my mind and revelation follows.

I could see one of those hurly, burly strong men doing resistance training. He wore a harness that was attached to a massive truck tyre. Strengthening his legs and body, he pulled the tyre behind him. I could see the weight of the tyre expressed in the strain on his face and muscles, the sweat dripping from the effort it required and an intensity of resolve to keep taking the next step forward.

He had vision!

He was walking out his vision, fully aware of the weight and commitment needed.

The scripture says that where there is no vision people cast off restraint. For this strong man, if he didn't carry a vision of where he was going, he would cast off the harness. He'd detach himself from the weight, the hard work, and the sweat. He'd quite happily let it all go and sit down. BUT he had VISION!!

You see, for each of us when we take hold of a vision for our lives, we live our lives with that vision in mind. We anchor ourselves into the reality of that vision coming forth. We take steps in the direction of that vision; we make decisions that reflect our commitment to that vision, and we don't sway from it. It's what moves us forward step by step.

When you don't have that vision, you live life without intention and purpose, without eternity in mind. Makes sense right?

For those of you who have a hearts desire to hear, see and know the Lord, creating a vision of what you would LOVE that to look like in your life is imperative for holding fast during times of resistance. Resistance will come. It’s part of your spiritual training and if you haven’t locked in on the vision you have for your relationship and experiences with the Lord, it can be easy to let the resistance win.

Selah!!!! (If you don't know, one possible meaning for the word selah, is 'think about it.')

Activation:

This is where we get to dream about what it will look like to have our hearts desire to hear, see and know the Lord realised in greater measure. Imagine what that will look like and how you will feel when your spiritual senses are strengthened and heightened. Step into the imagery of that realisation and start to dream in vivid colour. Then document what you see, feel and know.

Will you experience heavenly visions throughout your day? Will you sit in the counsel of Heaven and talk with your favourites, like Esther, Abraham, or Paul? How will you hear the Lord’s voice communicating with you? Will the sound of Heaven be heightened in your body, to feel the movement of warmth or perhaps tingling sensations that move across your forehead? Will Jesus stand before you, in your room as clear as day?

I invite you to be childlike in this activation, and enjoy the process of dreaming and envisioning with the Lord about your relationship with Him.

Prayer:

“Our Beloved Father, dwelling in the heavenly realms, may the glory of your name be the centre on which our lives turn. Manifest your kingdom realm, and cause your every purpose to be fulfilled on earth, just as it is in heaven,” through me. Matthew 6:9-10 ,TPT

About this Plan

Hearing God in the Noise

When we experience overwhelming "noise" in our internal world it's helpful to learn how to discern God's voice, transform anxiety into trust, and enhance our spiritual awareness by recognising the Holy Spirit’s personalised, experiential learning. In this bible plan, you will explore the "Long, Wide, Deep, and High" approach of the Lord's love that will deepen your understanding and application of spiritual truths for transformational growth and overcoming the noise.
