Seven Biblical Principles on FinancesSample

Principle #2 Principle of saving money
When it comes to saving money (or resources in general), the most profound scripture I can quote, specifically from The Living Bible (TLB) translation, is Proverbs 21:20. It says,
“The wise man saves for the future, but the foolish man spends whatever he gets.”
This verse clearly shows that the one who saves for the future is wise. But the one who spends whatever he gets is foolish. Now, there is an evil ongoing in this generation. That is, many people can’t make ends meet. They work alright and get paid. But as soon as the pay lands in their accounts, the funds go to bills and debts. So, they end up saving nothing. Oh, what a tragedy!
Can I tell you something? It takes discipline to save money, irrespective of how much you earn. If you are not disciplined in saving money and ensuring your savings aren’t touched until needed for the purpose it is saved for, you’ll end up spending even though you are earning money. Minimize wastage by saving money in every possible way. A time is coming when you may face financial struggles, so much so that your savings are what will help you to cope with it, just as Egypt was saved from the effect of seven years of famine by the saving wisdom of Joseph.
You are a blessing.

About this Plan

Money is an essential part of our lives. Without it, many things can’t be done, and visions get stunted because of a lack of adequate resources to finance them. And God knows this. That is why He wants us to be prosperous, and He has provided us with biblical principles to guide us towards financial prosperity so we can have enough for ourselves and others.
