DAY 5 OF 5

Victory in Christ

In judo, victory is not just over the opponent but also over oneself. Each competition, each training session, is an opportunity for personal growth. The judoka learns to master not only their techniques but also their emotions and fears. True victory is achieved when one conquers oneself.

In the Christian life, we are called to be more than conquerors. This victory does not come from our own strength but from the love of Christ that sustains and empowers us. In Romans 8:37, Paul reminds us that in all things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. This means that regardless of the difficulties we face, we have the assurance that victory is ours because of Jesus' sacrifice.

Jesus conquered death and sin for us, securing our eternal victory. When we face struggles, we can trust that we are already victorious in Christ. Our victory does not depend on our abilities or strength but on God's grace and love. This gives us unwavering confidence to face any challenge, knowing that the final victory is already assured.

Just as a judoka prepares for each competition with dedication and effort, we must prepare spiritually, relying on Christ's strength. Victory in Christ empowers us to face life's challenges with faith, courage, and hope. We are called to live as victors, reflecting God's glory in everything we do.

Challenge: Celebrate a recent victory in your life, whether small or large. Recognize that each victory is a testament to Christ's love and power in you. Share this victory with someone and thank God for His faithfulness.

About this Plan

 Smooth Path

Judo came into our lives through my late husband, a judoka. When our daughter Bianca, then 9 years old, was bullied and threatened with a box cutter, we decided to enroll her in judo classes. A week later, she successfully defended herself. Today, my daughter owns a judo academy and my grandson Pedro competes at the national level. This is the inspiration for this devotional.
