Connecting With God | Dive DeeperSample
Week 4 | Thankfulness
Day One
Spend some time in prayer before you begin. Thank God for this word and ask Him to reveal to you His truth in it.
- Read Leviticus 9:1-10:3 again but this time try reading it in a different version than you did before, look up the definitions of words you don’t know, summarize what the passage is saying in your own words.
- Do some research, who wrote the book of Leviticus? When was it written? To whom was it written? What genre of writing is it (Historical narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, law, prophesy, parables, epistles)? Why is all of this important?
- Do you think this passage teaches us about God’s creation, man’s sin, God’s redemption of man, or God’s restoration of man to Himself? It can be more than one. Why is it important to think about this?
- In this passage God gives His people clear instructions for what they should do for God to appear to them. How does God following through on this promise change how you view Him? Do you think God will follow through on the promises He makes you?
- What can we learn from this passage about God’s Character?
- What happened to those who disobeyed God’s instructions? Why do you think that happened? What can we learn from it?
- Spend some time in prayer as you close, thank God for sending Jesus to die on the cross for us so that we no longer have to go to such great lengths to be in His Presence. Ask God to help you have a grateful heart for all that He has done for you.
