Devotions for When Life Is HardSample

A Call to Action
When we feel depressed, we want to curl up in a ball and let life do what it will. But overcoming depression requires battle. It calls for action on our part. First, we must humble ourselves. We must recognize that although things may not be exactly as we want them to be, it’s not the end of the world. One day, God will reward our faithfulness. Being humble requires a decision on our part to accept that life isn’t perfect, God doesn’t follow our timeline, and it’s okay. Next, we must cast our anxieties on Him. Casting isn’t the same as dropping or laying. Casting means using all our strength in hefting our cares in His direction. When we fling our worries and concerns toward the Almighty, He will catch them. He will remove them from our shoulders and carry them.
Prayer: Dear Father, with all my strength, I throw my cares to You. Thank You for taking them from me. Amen.
