Eph 4:17-19

Paul says there should be a difference in the lives of those who follow Jesus and those who don’t. Understandably, people stumble in the dark, but once the light is on, there should be a change.

Ephesians 4:18
They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

This darkness of people’s minds has come from hardening their hearts and closing their ears to God.

Ephesians 4:19
Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, and they are full of greed.

Once removed from the intimacy of God, our soul craves intimacy from somewhere and we will replace it with something, even something of less value that may even be damaging.

Go thirsty long enough and man will eventually drink poison.

Humans are made for worship. They’re made for intimacy. If those needs are not found in God, they will replace them with something else.

Am I seeking to get something out of a relationship that I should first and foremost get from God?
