What Was I Made For?Sample
When was the last time you were so mad that you did something you regretted? Whatever the reason, it’s important to remember that anger isn’t wrong. Being upset, hurt, or angry is all part of being human! The problem comes when we react in anger and let that motivate us to make decisions that may not be best. When we do that, we’re not just hurting others but ourselves. That’s not what any of us are made for! The good news is God gives us an answer: forgiveness. Not just any forgiveness but the same forgiveness God has given us through Jesus. This kind of forgiveness urges us to do something else with our very real anger. It calls us to replace it with the forgiveness we don’t deserve but have received anyway. When we live in the reality that we are forgiven like that, we can genuinely extend that forgiveness to others.
Where in your life are you holding on to anger? What might it look like to step toward forgiveness in that place?
