Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
Do you proclaim that Jesus is the only way to heaven?
The apostles are faithful to their calling because “they taught the people and preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead” (Acts 4:2). This message infuriates the Sadducees, who do not believe in a bodily resurrection. For this reason, Peter was arrested to appear before the Sanhedrin, which is made up of the Jewish Supreme Court. Nonetheless, Peter boldly proclaims Jesus’ death and resurrection (Acts 4:10). Moreover, he heralds that Jesus is the only way to the Father. “Nor is there salvation in any other,” declares the apostle, “for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).
Employment Point: Trumpet the message that believing on Jesus’ death and resurrection is the only way to heaven.
About this Plan
Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
