Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample

But we will give ourselves continually to prayer and to the ministry of the word (Acts 6:4).
Do you help or hamper your church’s pastoral staff to accomplish their ministry?
God gives at least one spiritual gift to every believer. Peter writes, “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God” (1 Peter 4:10). A spiritual gift is a supernatural ability given by God to the believer at the moment of salvation for the edification of the body of Christ. Luke chronicles that when the church is growing, certain needs arise (Acts 6:1). He discloses that the apostles employ seven faithful Spirit-filled men to care for the widows so they can maintain their priorities (Acts 6:2-4). The end result is “the word of God spread, and the number of the disciples multiplied greatly” (Acts 6:7).
Employment Point: Apply your spiritual gift to serve others in the church.
About this Plan

Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
