Devotions on F.I.R.E. Year OneSample
And [pray] for me, that utterance may be given to me, that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the gospel (Ephesians 6:19).
Do you fearlessly proclaim the gospel to others?
Peter publicly denied the Lord three times, and Jesus confronted him three times about his love for Him (John 21:15- 19). Pentecost has arrived, and Peter is both baptized and filled with the Spirit (Acts 2:4; 11:15-16). The timid fisherman comes to understand the following words of Jesus: “Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19). Peter, standing before a large crowd, heralds, “Him, being delivered by the determined purpose and foreknowledge of God, you have taken by lawless hands, have crucified, and put to death; whom God raised up” (Acts 2:23-24). The message results in three thousand souls being saved (Acts 2:41). Let’s also pursue the calling of catching men.
Employment Point: Walk with Jesus and seek His power to boldly proclaim the gospel.
About this Plan
Devotions on F.I.R.E. journeys through the Bible in one year. Each day includes a devotion based on Dr. Burge’s F.I.R.E. method of Bible Study. F.I.R.E. stands for Familiarity, Interpretation, Relationship, and Employment. The F.I.R.E. method and the daily devotions helps readers remember and apply what they read as they fuel the fire in their hearts for God’s Word.
