Live Into Your God-Given Dreams

DAY 6 OF 7

Clothed with Purpose

When I look back on my life and my ministry experience, I see how God trained me in some of the finest schools and newsrooms as a journalist, only to pluck me out from that environment to train me during seasons of obscurity in classrooms and offices and in some of the most remote parts of the world on His mission field.

God had a Purpose all along, even if I didn’t always see it. Once I started sharing some of my thoughts and reflections in emails to close friends, I was touched to see how my writing was touching them.

It was as if God had redeemed my writing.

When God Calls us, He also equips us.

During a prayer time with my teammates on a short-term mission trip, our leader, who was a pastor, prayed for me. He said he pictured me wearing a suit, and he told me God had given me everything I needed. He saw me as a soldier who goes ahead of the army to clear trees and make a path so the rest of the troops can advance. I took the pastor’s words to mean that God had given me His Armor and had equipped me for my Kingdom Assignments.

On another short-term mission trip, one of my younger team leaders was in tears as she told me she admired that God had given me a crown and that I just lay it at His Feet.

We are Christ’s Spiritual Warriors, members of His Royal Family, and His Bride. As we get dressed every morning, let’s remember our Spiritual Attire.

The fifth truth in the Six C's of Transformation is that God has clothed us with Purpose. As we dare to live our God-given dreams and Purpose, we need to stay covered by Christ’s Love and Power and Grace and Strength.

When God sees us, He sees Jesus.

According to Galatians 3:26-28, we’re clothed with Christ, and there’s no distinction between Jew and Gentile, male and female, slave and free. This means that God doesn’t discriminate against us because of our nationality, race, gender, or social status.

Colossians 3:3 states that we’re hidden in Christ. We don’t need to be limited by labels or stereotypes society tries to place on us. Nor are we defined solely by nationality or political affiliation or any other trappings of this world.

Let’s also not get stuck in our past and defined by our rocky beginnings or past sins.

Jesus can redeem and redefine us and clothe us in our Divine Wardrobe.

Prayer

Dear God, thank You for clothing me with Your Purpose.
