Lift OffSample

Reading the Bible can feel intimidating sometimes. But one simple way of studying Scripture is called S.O.A.P. It stands for "Scripture," "Observation," "Application," and "Prayer." We'll show you how—it's easy!
S: Scripture
If you haven't already, read today's passage of Scripture. Then summarize it in your own words.
O: Observation
Read Hebrews 10:22–25 again.
- What stands out to you?
- What does the passage teach us about having godly relationships?
- What questions do you still have?
A: Application
- How can spending time with others help us grow in our faith?
- Who helps you grow? Do you need to ask them for encouragement?
- How can you encourage a friend to grow today?
P: Prayer
Spend some time in prayer about your relationships. Ask God to help you find a friend or mentor who can help you grow and the courage to do the same for someone else. Thank God for all the people who have already had a positive impact on you.

About this Plan

Whether you've been attending church since you were a kid or are brand new to this Jesus thing, you probably have some ideas about what it takes to grow spiritually—but you might have some questions, too. In this 4-week devotional series from Grow Curriculum, we'll look to some stories of Jesus and his followers to see how spiritual habits can help us "lift off" our spiritual growth.
