King & KingdomsSample

If somebody asked you the hardest thing you've ever gone through, what would come to mind? Maybe you were having lots of anxiety. Maybe you were being overwhelmed by the amount of stuff on your plate. Maybe you had lost someone. Maybe friends had walked away from you.
In those seasons, we usually feel afraid, stressed, and really distant from God. We wonder if God is there with us. Sometimes it can feel similar to what David described: the darkest valley.
David's life up to this point hadn't been easy. Following God had meant running for his life for years before he sat on the throne. He had lost friends. He had lost family. He felt unprepared for the task in front of him. He knew the dark valley too. But he had learned something big: the Good Shepherd wouldn't ever leave him alone, not even in the darkest moments of life. God was there.
Think it Over: What are some ways you can remind yourself God is with you, even in the hard moments? Maybe you write some bible verses on sticky notes and put them on your bathroom mirror. Maybe you can change your phone background to a reminder. Maybe you make a playlist with songs that remind you to trust God and play it whenever you're having a hard time.
