Daily Direction Reading PlanSample

When people say this is a “dog eat dog” world, they usually mean that some people will do whatever it takes to survive. This includes taking advantage of others. King David said about such people, “The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’” David was not describing people deficient in intellect but deficient morals—practical atheists who choose to live as though God does not exist. They may go to church or publicly declare that they believe in God but their actions show otherwise. They ignore God in the decisions they make or in the way they exploit others when they think no one is watching. David describes them as corrupt and evil. They justify their wicked actions by denying that God exists or that they are accountable to God. David said God looks on the human race to see if anyone is wise, if any seeks God. When God looks, He sees that “all have turned away; all have become corrupt. No one does good, not a single one.” The Apostle Paul quotes this text in Romans 3. He shows that because the entire human race falls short of God’s standards, God has provided a way for us to obtain right standing with Him. He did it by sending His own Son to pay for our shortcomings. Christ died for our sins on the cross. Now God will forgive and declare righteous all who accept God’s Son by faith. He then gives us power to treat others with justice.
