The Gospel of MarkSample
In verses 15-19, we see Jesus cleansing the temple. We are met with Jesus’ anger as we see Him overturn the tables of the money changers. The temple was to be a place of worship but instead, Jesus calls them out saying, “you have made it a den of robbers.” As we read this today, it’s important to note that the anger we see is not impulsive. Remembering what we read earlier in the week about Jesus coming to Jerusalem not to conquer, but to observe the standing of God’s people, this reaction is a result of what He observed. Emotions are powerful. As the church, how can we follow Jesus in the way we respond to situations that upset us?
