DAY 146 OF 365

After We Believe

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to us all. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. … But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.

And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. … “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.”

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. … But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
