40 Days With the Risen LordSample

40 Days With the Risen Lord

DAY 15 OF 40

The Subject of the Resurrection Command

A Quote

We always preach Him, the true God and man. This may seem a limited and monotonous subject, likely to be soon exhausted, but we are never at the end of it.

– Martin Luther

A Prayer

Lord Jesus,

Open our minds so we understand your word more each day. Give us a hunger for it. Please feed us" your lambs and your sheep. Then, in your name, may we go out and proclaim your suffering, death, resurrection, and repentance and forgiveness of sins for all nations. We pray for the people groups who have not heard the gospel. We pray for the scattered children of God who have heard and are under persecution. Stir up your church by the power of your Spirit so that your people want to do the tasks you ask of us. Forgive us for our complacency, widen our vision of your kingdom and send us forth in your name beginning right here. Amen.

Journal Exercise

The apostle Paul wrote, "If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, will he not give us all things with him?” Reflect on how the giving of his Son assures you of God’s love. Write a prayer thanking God for his mercy and rejoice in his presence.

Think of some of the people you know. Begin with family members, and include neighbours, friends, work colleagues, fellow club members, ect. Write a prayer for three people who are spiritually lost that they might know the resurrection hope.

A Quote

A full measure of the word and prayer each day gives a healthy and powerful spiritual life.

– Andrew Murray

A Challenging Prayer

Let us glorify God by proclaiming our saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ, in prayerful dependance on the Holy Spirit so that everyone will hear his call to repent, and trust and serve Christ in love while they await his return.
