Nearly every new gadget comes with an instruction manual, and, likely, those instruction manuals never get read. Often that little booklet that gives all the tips and tricks goes straight into the garbage can. The funny thing is, we all know that the instruction manual is only there to help. But there’s always a small part in all of us that thinks: “I can do this on my own. I don’t need any help.” But more often than not, at some point in the ownership process, we’ve found ourselves desperately wishing we had kept that little manual—especially when the oven makes a random beeping noise or the hair dryer mysteriously turns on by itself.
Maybe that sounds familiar, the underlying thought that we can handle any situation on our own. Sure, there are some situations we can and should handle, like knowing how to turn on an oven. But when it comes to real-life problems—like trying to save a friendship or feeling lost in our spiritual life—we find ourselves in over our heads. But God doesn’t want us to feel that way. God specifically inspired His people to write stories and give direction for believers to help guide us through our lives. We don’t have to do this walk of faith alone. We can turn to Scripture any time we need to feel a little bit more hope, direction, and encouragement in our lives. What a blessing!

About this Plan
When it comes to our relationship with God, habits can take on a huge role. They can work to help us stay consistently connected to Him, or become distractions that keep our minds focused on what we want and not on what God wants for our lives. We’ll take a look at how being consistent with our spiritual habits helps us maintain a close relationship with our Savior.
