Journaling Through Lent

DAY 6 OF 40

Repentance from Impatience

I have a personal confession – waiting is not my strong suit. I struggle with impatience and often find myself in situations where God is trying to teach me patience by making me wait. It’s frustrating because I want to take things into my own hands and expedite God’s timing. But in doing so, I only delay things further.

Waiting, in general, is hard, but waiting on God is even harder. Trusting God’s timing involves relinquishing control over situations and inviting Him to work on things at His pace. Also, while waiting, it’s easy to lose hope and become weary. But in Galatians, Paul urges us to “not get weary” and continue to do what we are called to while we wait for our reward to come through.

Today, let’s take time to repent of our impatience and lack of faith in God’s timing. Let’s ask the Holy Spirit to develop in us the fruit of patience and long suffering.

Journaling Prompt:

Depict the beauty of patience in your journal today. Use images and colors that convey the strength and beauty found in waiting on God.
