Love This Book - Part 3Sample

Week 32: The focus this week is on Peter’s recognition of Jesus as king. These broad passages capture the moment in Matthew, Mark and Luke when Jesus asks the central question, “Who am I?” It is a major turning point when Jesus moves from being an ambiguous figure to making a Messianic claim. He connects kingship with suffering and death and then reinforces that idea by repeatedly paralleling death and kingship imagery. We also look at the triumphal entry, the plot to kill Jesus and the importance of the crucifixion in the story of the Gospel and the church.
