When you think about putting on a suit of armor, what are some things that come to your mind? Some sort of helmet, a shield that you can hold out in front of you, maybe even a weapon that you can use to protect yourself? All of these things work together to give you the best chance of victory when you find yourself up against your enemy. In a way, your armor is like your first and last line of defense. It protects you from harm, and helps to support you when something that wants to hurt you comes your way. As we read in the rest of the chapter in Ephesians, we are given a sort of spiritual armor to protect ourselves from temptations that may come our way. But for it to be effective, we have to do one thing first—we have to put it on.
Armor is only helpful when we take the time to put it on and use it. We arm and protect ourselves with the Word of God, by staying in constant communication with God through prayer, and by boldly holding on to truth when the enemy shouts out lies. When we do this, there is nothing that can stop us from making the choices that God wants for our lives. Take a moment to be thankful this week for the armor and protection God provides for His people.

About this Plan
We all have to deal with temptation at some point in our lives. Why does it have a hold on us and what can we do to break it? We’ll read what God says about temptation to see that while we each have temptations of our own, we never have to go through the struggles alone. Even when we’re faced with tempting thoughts, there is always a way through.
