The Nine Beatitudes of JesusSample
Day 6 - Blessed are the merciful
Merciful people are one of the most precious people on the face of this earth. Even though they know the difference between right and wrong, they are patient enough to see those under them in life, according to divine knowledge (and experience), grow.
But we live in a world where people are impatient with others. A prostitute comes to church, and she doesn’t get welcomed by the love of the brethren. Instead, people criticize her for her dress. What a tragedy! Meanwhile, it took the mercy of God to save all of us when we were dead in sins (see Ephesians 2:4-5).
Do you have mercy on people? Dear Christian entrepreneur, you might have the power to dismiss an employee for misbehaving at the workplace. But will you be merciful, forgiving, loving, and patient enough to let God’s Word work out righteousness in this fellow?
When you show mercy to others, Jesus says you’ll also be shown mercy. That means, as far as this earth is concerned, there are authority systems, and everybody is under somebody. Even the president of your country is under the United Nations Organization. So, for that sake, have mercy on people’s offenses, forgive them, and focus on fulfilling your divine assignment.
