Pause: A Month of Joy in Five Minutes a DaySample
Proclaim
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” (Phil. 4:4-5)
Prompt
I love the song “Waymaker.” I love to sing it loud and proud, because it helps remind me of who God really is.
Someone who lives with hope is someone who knows the characteristics of the God they serve, and that can lead us to sing loudly and joyfully about the way-making God we serve!
When you believe all these things about God, you can confidently step out in faith to accomplish what he has called you to. You can make the tough decision. You can have the challenging conversation. You start the new venture, admit the mistake, forgive the sinner.
No matter what it is you are facing today, rejoice! He will make a way!
Prod
Where in your life do you need God to make a way? Can you trust Him with that today?
Praise

Pray
Jesus, you’re the Waymaker! Make a way for me today, and help me walk in that way. I can’t make my own way—I’ve tried and failed, stumbled, got lost and just messed it all up. Over and over and over again. Please make the way for me today. I’m following you all the way! Amen.

About this Plan
Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by taking a pause each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
