Pause: A Month of Joy in Five Minutes a DaySample
Proclaim
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” (Phil. 4:4-5)
Prompt
When you’re on the road to discipleship, you’re on a road that leads to a joy-filled future. And a way you can prepare for that future is through practicing your routine.
Your routine helps you to innately begin to develop skills that will serve you greatly in the days to come. I know I benefited immensely from things like waking up on time (or early!), making my bed, finding time to read my Bible or a life-affirming, faith-building book, and saying prayers daily.
These kinds of routine builders mimic the type of professional schedule that a lot of us addicts have failed to maintain in the past. Routines keep us focused and looking ahead, building up strategic planning and time-management skills.
Routines set us up for the future, building joy both now and in the time ahead.

About this Plan
Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by taking a pause each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
