Pause: A Month of Joy in Five Minutes a DaySample
Proclaim
“Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near.” (Phil. 4:4-5)
Prompt
God made us to be creative beings. It’s one of the many aspects of our lives that brings us true joy! Just the simple act of creation, of turning nothing into something, can spark a happiness that lasts and lasts.
When you achieve a balanced and relaxed life—which you can do when you keep up your routine—you then have easier access to your intuition and creativity.
You know what else helps? Getting out and DOING something active, whether that’s exercise in a home gym, a brisk run through the neighborhood, or just a walk in the park. Getting yourself moving can refresh your mind and help you get back to your true, creative self.
Within all of us lies a creative being; by maintaining a routine and tapping into what Jesus offers, we allow that person the freedom to thrive.
Prod
When was the last time you did something creative? Make a plan to be creative today: write a poem, draw a sketch, or do something else you enjoy, just for the sake of being creative.

About this Plan
Depression. Loneliness. Comparison. Greed. Addiction. People-pleasing. These are tools of the enemy to steal your calling and rob your joy. In this reading plan, drawn from his book, Lance Lang invites you to neutralize those tools by taking a pause each day, studying scripture, reading encouragement, taking action, and refocusing your attention on Jesus. Press forward into what God has for you. Press pause.
