The Church in Philippi Gives
Listen to "The Church in Philippi Gives":
Reflect
Paul sometimes worked to meet his own needs by making tents. Other times, he was able to focus on sharing about Jesus full-time because churches, like the church at Philippi, gave generously. Paul wrote a letter to thank the Philippian people and assure them that God was pleased with their offering. He exhorted them to remember that nothing matters except for knowing Jesus, to be humble like Jesus, to be of the same mind and heart, to not complain or argue, to pray about everything and above all to be joyful. Writing a letter or email can make a big impact on others’ lives. Who could you write and what encouragement will you give them?
● Think about Paul’s actions and attitudes in this story. Which one do you need to imitate?
Lord, help us to overflow with gratitude, to appreciate others and to follow these important exhortations. Let our offerings to You be pleasing to You. Amen.
