A Path Through Pain

DAY 12 OF 14

Discover Hope and Healing in Community

Think

Imagine a lone ember separated from a blazing fire. As it lies apart, its warmth begins to fade, its glow dims, and eventually, it turns cold. Contrast this to embers within the fire, continuously fueled and reignited by their proximity to other embers. In many ways, this mirrors our lives. Our spirits can diminish on our own, especially during pain and challenges. But our hope, faith, and resilience are rekindled in the embrace of a supportive community.

The local church is God's answer to save the world and our inherent need for connection, especially during moments of pain. It's meant to be a safe haven where wounds are tended to, tears are shared, and hope is restored. Being part of such a community means being open, vulnerable, and transparent about our struggles. In these moments of honesty, we open the door to genuine healing, both for ourselves and others who find courage in our stories.

Apply

This week, consider attending a small group or a church gathering, even if it's online. If you're already part of one, take a step toward vulnerability. Share something you've been grappling with and allow others to support you. Equally, be available to support someone else, reminding them that they are not alone.

Pray

Lord, thank you for the gift of community. Help me find the courage to be vulnerable and transparent, seeking healing within the fellowship of believers. Equip me to reflect on the hope and promises I have in you. In Jesus' name. Amen.

About this Plan

A Path Through Pain

Life brings unexpected pain, making us question everything. Is God truly there, or even care? Can grief and joy coexist? In this 14-day journey inspired by Pastor Ed and Lisa Young's new book, "A Path Through Pain," you'll discover the profound realization that even in the darkest moments, there's a path through pain, and on that path, you'll find hope, joy, and renewed faith. www.PathThroughPain.com
