Worth SharingSample
The Bible is filled with people who took a lot of risks for God. When we read Scripture, we see stories of individuals who risked their reputations, wealth, and even their lives to fulfill God's will on earth...but it wasn't always easy.
Let's look at Moses, for example. He felt inadequate to confront Pharaoh so he asked God to send someone else.
When asked to go tell the people of Nineveh about God, Jonah ran in the opposite direction.
Peter thought he'd stand by Jesus no matter what, but when he felt like his security was on the line, he said he'd never met Jesus.
Following God's guidance feels risky because what God asks us to do is often different than what our friends are doing. So, when God invites us to not only follow Jesus but tell others about Him, that can bring up our own feelings of inadequacy and fear.
Thankfully, we aren't alone in our wrestling. Did you know that Jesus even experienced these back-and-forth emotions?
Before Jesus was crucified, He went to a garden to pray. He knew His death was around the corner, and anguish of what was coming was crushing. He cried out and asked God to take Him out of the situation.
But then, in the same breath, He said, "Yet not my will, but Yours be done." Although it was excruciatingly difficult, Jesus knew that God's plans were for good and loving.
We don't have to have it all together to share the Good News. We can take risks, knowing that God understands how we feel and will help us when we're afraid.

About this Plan
For the next four weeks, we'll follow the story of Samuel to see how God called him to share his faith through his words and actions. We'll discover how God invites us to share the Good News, see why sharing the Good News should start with prayer, explore what to do when sharing the Good News sometimes requires risk, and see how sharing the Good News can happen every day.
