Today in Psalm 49, we find a great example of what happens when we trust in wealth and give in to “wicked” ways. It reads that we become more beast-like and may even forfeit our opportunity of resurrection (Psalm 49:13-15).
To measure whether our allegiance lies with God or with “Babylon,” we must inspect our desires. Wherever our desires are not aligned with our God-identity, as His image-bearers, we are called to repent and return to His best for our lives. In Matthew 6:33, Jesus taught to “seek first His kingdom” and that “all these things will be added unto [us].” Every deepest desire of our hearts can be redeemed and fulfilled when we reject the temptations of Babylon and align our hearts under the lordship of the Lamb.

About this Plan
The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
