Jesus First: A Study on Ephesians

DAY 39 OF 49

Discover

Paul clarifies in Ephesians 6:1-9 that we have a great call to be armed with obedience. Paul speaks specifically to children and adults and encourages us that our obedience is necessary for our growth. Children are commanded to obey their parents. The result will always be great blessings when obedience is done unto the Lord.

Learn

As a child is obedient to their parents, they, in turn, will learn the most valuable lessons of respect and humility, which leads to a life of blessing and favor. In the same way, we are to be obedient to our heavenly Father’s commands in our life. Although obedience to our Father’s will is difficult, we must remember that God’s heart is only to mature and strengthen our faith into Christ-like character, just like a parent.

Apply

As we are obedient, God’s purpose, will, and love for us will be revealed in such a mighty way. What a joy it will be to know the heart of our Father deeper. What withholds you from walking according to what God has asked of you? Remember, through our obedience, we will experience incredible growth and blessing!

About this Plan

Jesus First: A Study on Ephesians

There is no greater joy in life than one with Jesus first. The book of Ephesians teaches us that the gospel unites and motivates us to live for Christ. Through Christ's sacrifice, we receive God's love, forgiveness, and deliverance. This new identity in Christ calls us to imitate Him in all aspects of our lives, including our relationships and our battle against the darkness in the world.
