"Who will be my friends at school?"
"Will I pass all my classes?"
"Will anybody love me?"
All of us ask fear-filled questions to ourselves and even to God. I have always struggled with these questions. I used to be filled with fear and afraid of the unknown. I felt trapped and paralyzed in my fear, but I learned how to cope with my fears. It all happened one night in my room when I felt like all hope was gone and feared that God didn't have a plan for my life. I had a real, honest conversation with God. I cried, and yes, the ugly cry, and finally felt confident that God listened. God feels our feelings with us. God comforts. God will be with us when we are afraid.
Do I sometimes worry that I will never find my true friends? Yes. But it doesn't take over my life anymore, because I know in my heart that I don't have to be afraid. God is with me, and because of that, I can trust God! And the same is true for you too.
So, be real with God today. Start by telling God what you’re afraid of. God will listen to you and comfort you. Remember that you don’t have to be afraid because God is with you in your fear!
