Stay on Track! Paul's Letter to the Galatians

DAY 4 OF 25

Glory to God

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ … to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen” (Galatians 1:3-5)

In the introduction to his letter, Paul mentions his life goal - promoting God’s glory. In the end, that is what counts, not just for Paul but for all creation.

Naturally, we “fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). We can’t give God the honor He deserves nor do we want to because we are sinful. If we are born again by the Holy Spirit, this changes. “For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” (2 Corinthians 4:6). Knowing God as He is, evokes in us a longing to honor and glorify Him.

This is not limited to singing worship songs or attending a church service; it is part of our daily lives. As Paul explains in another letter: “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31).

What are your goals in life? Is “promoting God’s glory” as important for you as it was for Paul?
