Life or Death: the Power to ChooseSample

Life or Death: the Power to Choose

DAY 1 OF 7

Day 1: The Hinge Point

God equips us with gifts and resources to make informed, assertive decisions that honor Him and that productively contribute to His Kingdom. We all, figuratively speaking, choose life or death by the way we think, speak, or interact with others. We either choose and present a spirit of light or a spirit of darkness.

Choosing not to choose is still choosing (stew on that for a minute). We have too many Christians who would rather go along to get along and who shy away from making the uncomfortable, wise choice. Speaking generally, there are too many believers who have wandered into the progressive cultural camp of “my truth and your truth.” In our own lives, the consequences of poor choices, solely aligning to our feelings in a mere moment, can be eternally catastrophic.

The next six days are designed to either confirm or reveal God’s truth about choosing wisely. It is important to emphasize the significance of choosing our spiritual path and posture in life. Most likely, if you’re reading this, you have chosen to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. That’s the best place to start. However, that is not where the journey ends. Even Christians, maybe especially Christians, must choose life and love every day, despite our feelings or external stimuli.

We have a different mandate and calling; a higher perspective and vision. While we concede as believers, we are no better and no worse than non-believers, we would agree that it is our obligation to live by a higher standard based on Biblical truth. This Bible plan will magnify the need to intentionally, consistently, and carefully choose our thoughts, words, and behaviors in order to fully align with God’s plan.

The choice to initiate wise, Spirit-led decisions is the hinge point on which the door of life swings. Based on our choices, the door opens to all God has for us or it closes and we forfeit the right to our true destiny. We have been given a great gift of hope for eternity, but that hope also requires a responsibility to actively engage in our life story by making honorable and noble choices.

Get Honest:

In what ways can you be more assertive in making wise decisions and resisting comfortable apathy?

Day 2

About this Plan

Life or Death: the Power to Choose
