GOD Over Everything - 3-Day Devotional to Stay on Track With GODSample
GOD OVER TIME
Have you ever seen an hourglass? Looking at it, you can see all the sand resting at the bottom until you flip it over. Then it starts to seep through to the other side, little by little, grain by grain, second by second, until it's empty. That's how I looked at grace. With all my wrong choices, I thought God was running out of patience and definitely out of grace for me.
I thought my sin and inability to get my life back on track was on a time limit, and I was sure I was out of time as to why I expected things to go wrong in my life. And every choice I made agreed with my thoughts. But God's grace is never depleted or used up by sin. Instead it’s multiplied when we accept it into our lives so that we might be able to live free from condemnation and guilt!
Grace is God's unmerited favor toward us—His undeserved pardon for our sins (Romans 3:23). Grace is not based on what we have or what we have done; it’s freely given to us to keep us from feeling condemned.
I was once so blinded by the enemy that I failed to realize that GOD is not this big evil judge, just handing out death sentences every time we mess up. GOD is patient with us not wanting anyone to perish but everyone to come to repentance. He gives us time; and that time is called grace - undeserved patience and love.
You will fall, you will make mistakes, but get back up and know that there is grace for that.
Your weaknesses, there's grace for that!
Your failures, there's grace for that!
Your hang-ups, there's grace for that!
Shall we continue on in sin so that grace may abound? Of course not. Should we use His grace as an excuse to do whatever we please and say, "GOD will forgive me." Of course not! Consider yourself to be dead to sin and alive with Christ. Since we died to sin, we can’t live in it and it has no power over us. GOD’s grace is a reminder that sin can no longer control you; therefore, let go of the thoughts of unworthiness and receive His grace. Today I declare you shall choose God over everything.
Pray this prayer with me.
"Lord, there are areas of my life where I feel like I'm failing, but I thank you for having enough grace for me even in my worst of times. Strengthen me as I keep striving to be better, and become all that you have destined me to be in Jesus name.
