Trusting God

Hosea 6:3

“Let us acknowledge the Lord; let us press on to acknowledge him. As surely as the sun rises, he will appear; he will come to us like the winter rains, like the spring rains that water the earth.”

We can trust that spring will come no matter how long of a winter we experience. That’s how God designed the seasons in nature. In a similar way, you can trust that God will appear to you and help you in your single season as you meet new people, go on first dates, and find someone to spend your life with.

When it comes to trusting God in the unknowns of dating, it can feel like a real challenge. The key is to remember that God is faithful to provide. Just like we can be certain that winter will turn to spring in nature, so you too can be certain that by leaning into God’s faithfulness, He will show up powerfully in your life.

You don’t know when, where, or how you’ll meet your future spouse–or if that’s even the life God has planned for you. But one thing you can be sure of–through all the highs, lows, doubts, and disappointments–God is with you.

You can trust that God will come to you like the winter rains bringing life. You can count on His steady hand for the continual outpouring in your life as His eventual provision blesses you with showers like those of springtime that brings sustenance, restoring energy, and refreshment.

Just as surely as April’s showers will bring May’s flowers, I encourage you to remember that God’s love for you is certain, and you can trust Him, regardless. Start today with this prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank You for being a trustworthy Father. Through all the uncertainties dating brings, I’m so grateful to know You love me, care about me, and will never leave me. As I continue my dating journey, I ask You to make Your presence ever more present. When I get discouraged and start to feel unworthy of love, please remind me that Your love never fails. Thank You for guiding me in this season as I walk with You.
