Becoming a Son That Pleases the FatherSample
DIVINE EXPERIENCES AND REVELATION (2)
We will continue from where we stopped yesterday and look at the third type of experience believers can have.
3. Normal experiences
The normal experiences are for the majority, and everyone will experience this at different times. Exceptional experiences are occasional; so, you should settle down for the normal experiences and normal testimonies without thinking that something is wrong with you.
Men of God use exceptional testimonies to stir up faith in people. For example, an evangelist shares exceptional testimonies of previous moves of God in his ministry with the participants at his crusades to stir up their faith to believe in God for a miracle in their situations. If a prophet is ministering, he will talk about the exceptional testimonies he’s had in his calling and life. This, he does, to draw the faith of the people towards the anointing he is carrying so that the people can receive from God. Ministers of God don’t always share the normal experiences they go through because those are already common to all. God has special arrangements for different ministerial offices in the Body of Christ, however, everyone will have normal experiences.
For example, in our text today, the Bible says Jesus was coming from Bethany, hungry. That was a normal human experience because God is never hungry. The way human beings get hungry, Jesus, the Son of God in human flesh, was hungry. He wanted food, saw a fig tree from a distance, and walked towards it hoping He could get something from it. Jesus did not perform any miracle there that day. Rather, he used His faith to meet His need, the same way we use our faith today. Many times, people in ministry assume that being in the ministry excuses them from the normal Christian life. The calling does not excuse anyone from the normal Christian life.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, give me a clear understanding of every phase and experience I pass through in life so that I can cooperate with Your plan fully in Jesus’ name. Amen!
