Moses - a Life of PurposeSample
It wasn’t Moses’ idea to go to Pharoah and ask him to let God’s people go. In fact, Moses pleaded with God to send someone else instead. It was God’s purpose, and He would use Moses to make it happen. It was an impossible task, but God was with Moses and told him what to do and what to say. Again and again, Moses begged Pharaoh, “Let my people go!”
Again and again, Pharaoh said, “No!” He wouldn’t budge. So, God sent ten warnings.
Finally, Pharaoh gave in and let God’s people go.
They gathered their things, just as God had told them to, and fled as fast as they could. They ran towards the Red Sea with the Egyptian army chasing behind them. Moses lifted his wooden staff, and God sent a rushing wind that parted the sea so the Israelites could cross over on the dry land. God used Moses to bring about His purpose. God’s people were free! Now Moses would lead them into the promised place God had for them.
