Bloodline: Spiritual DNA of a Kingdom Warrior

DAY 5 OF 7

Day 5:

Conqueror

Normally, I refrain from generalizations, but in this case I will make an educated assumption. Most elite, exceptional, highly decorated athletes, whose transcendent talent often re-shapes their sport, come from a long legacy of family sports tradition. Mostly, we can trace a superior athletic gene back through a person’s bloodline and see either a great-grandfather, grandfather, or father who excelled at athletics. We should all be encouraged to know that our spiritual bloodline has equipped us to conquer any battle that presents itself. We are designed to experience victory, triumph, and dominion. Our confidence is rooted in the knowledge that our victory originates from a heavenly lineage and genealogy that is inherent to our existence.

Unlike future Hall-Of-Famers in their respective sports, our spiritual growth is not dependent on our abilities or our intellect. Similar to the strength God gave Gideon, we have been strengthened in the Lord and equipped to walk victoriously through battle. God declares us to be mighty and more than conquerors, despite the lies from the enemy or the world. Seemingly insurmountable odds have presented themselves to many of God’s warriors throughout the Bible: Joshua and the battle of Jericho (Joshua 6:2), David versus Goliath, Gideon and the Midianites, Paul and Silas in prison, just to name a few. This is our bloodline, and much like our aforementioned heroes, we are called to conquer what seems to be unconquerable.

Have you ever considered the purpose of our struggle and the reason we suffer through hardship? Have you ever considered that we face pain and suffering in order to build us into a stronger, more courageous, warrior for the Kingdom? God doesn’t cause our trauma or turbulence as life’s tidal waves crash into our proverbial shore. However, it is no different than a coach matching his athlete with the toughest competition in order to test his courage and sharpen his ability. God knows he built us to conquer adversity and resiliently achieve victory. Our bloodline comes from championship pedigree, and our struggle is not uncommon to our ancestors from previous millennia. We serve a God who knows what we need, how and why we need it, and then equips us with the tools to not only win, but also valiantly represent a legendary bloodline.

Ask Yourself:

What will I conquer this week at work and at home?
