Who Am I

DAY 19 OF 20

When God’s people were newly entering into their covenant relationship with Him, God gave Moses instructions to build a tabernacle. Why? Because God wanted to be close to His people. So, God gave Moses the blueprints for how to construct the earthly version of His tabernacle. God took care of providing the materials for His earthly dwelling place, but He also provided something else. As part of the instructions, God told Moses that He had gifted two men, Bezalel and Oholiab, and all of the skilled workers for the task of building the tabernacle. What were they good at? Crafts. We’re talking about working with precious metals and stones, weaving tapestries, and making things of beauty. The tabernacle would not have been able to be assembled without the gifts of these God followers. They had been given abilities for that exact time. And the same God who orchestrated the gifting of the people to build the tabernacle also gave you your skills and abilities. He chose everything about what makes you, you! Who you are is not a mistake. And your community needs you! Just like Bezalel, Oholiab, and the skilled workers, you have been gifted in the way you are for such a time as this.

So, discover who you are, what your skills are, and how you can use those to give back to the community around you. Remember, the world needs you!

About this Plan

Who Am I

How would you define what makes up your identity? Maybe you define who you are by what you do or how you perform. While all of those things may be pieces of who you are, those definitions can change. Let’s take those questions about our identity to God to see what He has to say. As we do, we’ll discover that God wants us to find our identity rooted in the firm foundation of truth—rooted in who He says we are.
